Pregnancy || Could I be Pregnant?

We’re Here for You!

The possibility of being pregnant might be really exciting and joyful for you, or you might feel really stressed, scared, and anxious, not sure what you’re going to do.

Either way, take a deep breath and keep reading!

The first step is to find out if you’re pregnant. We’re here to help you with that!

There is always a chance you could become pregnant if you’re sexually active - even when using contraception. At different times of the month, your chances of pregnancy can increase or decrease, and sperm can survive in a woman’s body after sexual activity for several days. So, taking a pregnancy test is always a great first step!

Possible Signs and Symptoms

A missed period is often what makes most women stop and consider if they’re pregnant (but pregnancy is not the only explanation for its absence).

Pregnancy signs and symptoms will appear differently for each woman and even for each pregnancy! While some experience a multitude of signs and symptoms, others may have none at all. Early indicators may include, yet are not restricted to:

  • Missed period

  • Tender and swollen breasts

  • Nausea, with or without vomiting

  • Increased urination

  • Fatigue (tiredness)

Other symptoms may include, but are not limited to:

  • Light spotting

  • Cramping

  • Moodiness

  • Bloating

  • Constipation

Pregnancy Tests

Wondering what to do next? The first step is determining whether you're pregnant or not! That’s where pregnancy testing comes in (one of our free services).

If you plan to take a test at home and are uncertain about the timing, a general guideline is to take a pregnancy test around the first day after your expected period. For those with irregular cycles or unsure about their timing, waiting approximately 17 days after you had sex before testing typically yields accurate results. We can always set up an appointment with you to verify your pregnancy test results!

Although pregnancy tests offer valuable insights, it's crucial to understand that they serve as indicators rather than conclusive proof. Confirming pregnancy definitively requires an ultrasound. We recommend scheduling an ultrasound to confirm the diagnosis if you receive a positive pregnancy test result. Contact us to schedule your free ultrasound!
