Pregnancy Help || Free and Reliable

Could you be pregnant?

Facing the possibility of an unexpected pregnancy can be a lot to process. You might feel a combination of emotions, from scared and confused to completely overwhelmed. Our center has staff that know how important it is to have results you can rely on. We offer free and confidential pregnancy testing to any woman who thinks she may be pregnant.

Even if you took a test at home, taking one with a medical professional is a good idea. Home pregnancy tests continue to improve in accuracy as technology advances, but many factors can influence the reliability of the results. At the PRC of West Plains, we offer lab-quality pregnancy tests administered by a nurse so you can be sure.

Please stop by our office or call for an appointment to get your free pregnancy test.

Confirm Your Pregnancy

After a positive pregnancy test, it’s normal for you to feel overwhelmed, but don’t rush into anything just yet! Your next step is to confirm your results with an ultrasound.

What is an ultrasound?

An ultrasound is an imaging procedure that allows trained medical staff to see the inside of your uterus using a hand-held instrument called a transducer. The transducer emits high-frequency sound waves and projects an image based on how they bounce back.

When should I get an ultrasound?

If you receive positive test results from a pregnancy test we will determine if you are a candidate for our limited ultrasound. Our services are completely free and confidential here.

Why do I need an ultrasound?

At the PRC of West Plains, we provide ultrasounds to determine three things about your pregnancy.

  • Viability of the pregnancy

  • Location of the pregnancy

  • Gestational age

  • A pregnancy is generally considered to be viable when a heart rate is established. So, during your ultrasound, our trained staff will look for the heart rate and measure it. They’ll also make sure to confirm the pregnancy is progressing normally inside of your uterus.

  • Sometimes, a pregnancy implants outside of the uterus - like in the fallopian tubes. Here, there will not be enough room for the pregnancy to develop fully and it could pose a threat to you if it continues.
